We are just minutes from Offa’s Dyke and the Hergest Ridge where walkers, riders and cyclists can enjoy a choice of paths and wonderful views. Mortimer’s Trail, the Wye Valley Walk and the Brecon Beacons are all within easy reach along with the Black Mountains and Hay Bluff. For those interested in conservation there are several guided walks.

Canoeing

You can take a canoe down the Wye from Glasbury to Hay or beyond with pick-up arranged, perhaps seeing the kingfishers and sand martins along the banks.

Golf

Kington Golf club welcomes visitors to enjoy the highest 18 hole golf course in England, with its spectacular views. There are several 9 and 18 hole courses within easy reach.

Churches & History

Church

Local Church

There are many delightful small churches in the surrounding villages, some made famous by the Reverend Kilverts Diary. Being on the border of England and Wales, there are historic sites, battlegrounds and motte and bailey castles.

The city of Hereford has a beautiful cathedral where the Mappa Mundi is displayed. It is also the centre of cider making and has an excellent museum. The lovely market towns of Ludlow, known for its local produce, farmers market and castle, Leominster which has a choice of antique shops, and Brecon, in Wales with the regimental museum, canal and theatre. The charming town of Hay on Wye which is world famous for its annual literary festival and has some 40 book shops, is a 15 minute drive away.

The renowned Hergest Croft gardens are nearby and open almost all year, as well as several others.
